The tenth edition of the BPL is starting on Friday
The tenth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) started on Friday 19 January 2024.
This time seven teams in the franchise-based T20 Cricket League.
The trophy for the tenth edition of the BPL was unveiled yesterday, with six team captains and one team co-captain taking part.
This time the title of the event is sponsored by Ispahani Tea.
Competition teams in this year's BPL are Comilla Victorians, Great Dhaka, Chittagong Challengers, Sylhet Strikers, Rangpur Riders, Fortune Barishal and Khulna Tigers.
The name of the group with the changed capital of ownership is Great Dhaka (DURANTA DHAKA) Great cover.
The current champion and the most successful team in the BPL, Comilla Victorians, will face a great team in the opening match on Friday.
The first match of the tenth BPL event will be screened with a Dhaka-Kumilla match on Friday 19 January 2024 at 2 pm। The Chittagong Challengers and Sylhet Strikers will face off in the second match evening.
Fortune Barishal and Rangpur riders will fight at half past one on Saturday. The Khulna Tigers and Chittagong Challengers will face off in the evening.
The first round of the siege will end on Monday and Tuesday with four more matches at the Sherbangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
A total of 10 matches will be held in the Sylhet of BPL. Then BPL will return to the cover. There are eight matches in the second round in the capital. Then there are a total of 12 matches in the Chittagong episode in the port city of BPL.
The last episode will start on February 21, 2024.
A total of four knockouts, including two in the round robin league and the final, will be held in this episode. The 10th BPL event will be screened through the final at Sherbangla National Stadium on March 1, 2024.
The BPL trophy was unveiled at Dhaka Cantonment yesterday। It was attended by Khulna's Enamul Haq Vijay, Chittagong's Shubhagar Home, Sylhet's Mohammad Mithun, Dhakar Mossadek Hossain, Rangpur's Nurul Hassan Sohan, Comilla's Liton Das and Barishal's Tamim Iqbal.
Sylhet has made Mashrafi bin Mortuza, the second-time Member of Parliament, the captain. He is also uncertain about his entire career due to busy public representatives and injuries. Fellow of the Co-Captain took part in the trophy unveiling ceremony as Sylhet's representative.
Fortune Barishal will be led by star batter Tamim Iqbal. National team all-rounder Mehdi Hassan Miraj co-captain.
For about Rs 3 crore, the world's best all-rounder Shakib will be named as the captain of Rangpur Riders. This year's lead was on the shoulders of Nurul Hassan Sohan to keep Sakib in a pressure-free game. Ishtiak Sadeq, chief executive of Rangpur Riders, spoke about it.
Change is coming in the four-time champion Comilla team as well. Lytton Das has been replaced by Emrul Kayes, who has won the title three times.
This time also the victory of the great underworld captain Mosaddek Hossain, the well-to-do home of Chittagong and the enamUl hawk of the Khulna Tigers.
Comilla has won the title four times in 2015, 2018, 2022 and 2023. In the first two seasons (2012 and 2013), the Gladiators won the title. Rangpur Riders in 2016, Rajshahi Royals Champion in 2019.
BPL was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the Kavid-19 epidemic. Tamim Iqbal has scored a maximum of 2,930 runs in the BPL. Sakib al-Hasan took the highest 132 wickets.
